Forgive me. It’s been seven days since I’ve confessed posted.
I haven’t posted a lot because getting ready for my FB party really took a lot out of me. I had so much to do to get ready for it. I’m still trying to figure out if it was worth it. I think so, mostly because it was a lot of fun, and several people attending the party bought Hearts of Evil, which was the book that the party was all about. But I haven’t been able to sustain the sales. It got up to #50 in a category, but then it fell away after the party. It has 1 4-star review and 3 5-star reviews, and I know at least three of the reviews came from people at the party. So we’ll see how this book does. I still would like to do a FB party for my next release. I have to try at least twice, right?
Now, on to my update. I wrote 720 words on Tuesday and 1360 words today, for a total of 2080 words so far this week. I seem to be able to write more words at lunch here at work than in the evenings, and I think it has a lot to do with the fatigue factor. So I might try doing a little more of that. We’ll see how that works out.
How are YOU doing?
You’re forgiven. 🙂 The facebook party was fun, especially the auto-correct mistakes.
*giggles*
It was a fun party. I feel bad because I came in late, but I could see that everyone was having a good time. 😀
But you did stop by! 🙂
It certainly looked like the party was worth it. Good job on the writing.
The party was a lot of fun. And I think I made some people happy. 🙂
The FB party sounds like fun. I’ll definitely be interested to hold one when I have a book published. It probably takes a lot of patience, but I’m sure that it’s common for a book to bounce up and down in sales. I would just focus on promoting this book and working on the second one and not stress too much. (Yeah, I know, that’s easier said than done!) 😉
My word count isn’t as high as I would like it to be this week, but if I can write a few hundred words today, I’ll call it a win. Good luck with your new release!
It was fun, Denise, and if you have any questions when you’re ready to do one, just ask. 🙂 It’s so hard to deal with low sales these days when sales were so good when I first starting publishing and there wasn’t as much competition. I’m just not sure what the best way to market is. Everyone seems to disagree on what works best. I just need to find out what works for me. So far, I’m just trying to write books and be as nice as I can be. LOL
Good luck with your word count!
it always seems had work to keep progressing and sales are hard at moment with so many authors ad a recession, your advice to yourself sounds good to me keep writing and be nice – I would add be kind to yourself as well:)
It is hard. But we can’t give up!
#50 sounds awesome to me even if the velocity fell off after the party. I’m highly covetous of your new word count for the week. Good job!
It was cool because it had been awhile since my rank was that high. Thanks for your encouragement!
