People have been telling me I need an author page instead of just a friends profile. I’ve balked against it for awhile, not really sure what the benefit might be, and aggravated because Facebook doesn’t let the people who like your page always see it in their news feeds (they want you to pay to have everyone see it). But, it IS more professional than having a friends page. And there are people who might like your page who don’t want to get personal enough to add you as a friend. So I bit the bullet and did it.
Right now, I’m trying to just get to 100 likes. When that happens, I’m going to do a drawing from all the people who like my page for a signed paperback of one of my books. It will be winner’s choice of which one. So if you want to be entered into the drawing, go to Facebook and like my page. There’s nothing more you have to do to enter. 🙂
Liked it. 🙂 I rarely use Facebook, though I know all the marketing guides say authors must be on it. So many social media networks, so little time.
I balked against Facebook, too, but when my cover artist started getting lots of business from being on there, I had to rethink it. So I’m trying to keep myself out there on FB. I’m rarely on Twitter, though. The feeds go by so fast, there doesn’t seem to be much point.
Thanks for the like!
I “liked” it! 🙂
Thanks!
I hope it works for you. maybe after I finish my current WIP I’ll work on a professional Facebook page, but knowing me, probably not (I need to clone me and one of them will just be media relations, one for cooking, one for cleaning, and then just me 🙂 )
I just hope I can keep up with it!
I got one only because I heard of an author who had to battle with Facebook because someone put up a page pretending to be her. She had to get her own Facebook page in order for them to remove it. After hearing about that hassle, I set up a few accounts to cover some major sites (Google + being one of them) just so I could have the site take down anyone who was pretending to be me). Isn’t that sad when we have to worry about this kind of thing?
Anyway, I’m off to like your FB page and yes the incentive to get an autographed book is part of it. 😀
That is terrible that we have to worry about that. It’s crazy.
Thanks for liking. 🙂
