Hi fellow ROW80ers!
I was 1397 words over my cumulative goal, but I took a day off last night, so I’m only over 897 as of this morning. I’m definitely going to take days off along the way, but only if I’m ahead. I wrote about 1000 words in the last scene, but I’m kind of contemplating what I want to happen next.
Exercise was once again a massive fail. I’m having timing problems with the exercise, and I need to get into a routine. Work has been so busy, it leaves me exhausted by the end of the day. But I know if I exercise I’ll feel better.
I’m getting very close to finished with my proofing of Starfane for print. I already have it formatting, I just need to make sure there’s no typos, etc.
I’ll be popping over to some other people’s blog off and on during the day.
Oh, and check out Fairytale Nerd, where she’s interviewing me today. 🙂
Better late than never! 😀 Way to go on your goals… Keep up the good work.
Darlene
Thanks, Darlene!
Something is better than nothing – keep up the good work!
Exercise is tough to fit in. The only way I can keep at it is to do it first thing after I get home from work. I also read while on the treadmill, which makes it more of a treat than drudgery. Good luck on the writing AND the exercise!
Thanks, Jennette!
I was watching DVD’s on my portable player while on the treadmill, but my son borrowed it. I’ve always worried about getting a headache trying to read while on the treadmill, but maybe I’ll try it.
Story percolation is important too. Let your subconscious chew on it. As a writer, days “off” aren’t ever really off. Writing, story-telling… it’s who we are.
Exercise is who we are NOT. Good luck with that :-). Best advice I can give is simply to try to find a way to “trick” yourself into enjoying it. I absolutely hate running, but I love to play basketball… so I do that twice a week and pretend it’s not “working out.” Doesn’t work for everyone though…
You’re right, we’re always thinking about the story. 🙂
I like to use the Wii, but my husband gets up about the time I get home from work, then he’s watching TV. By the time he leaves for work, I’m too sleepy to exercise. And I can’t do any more bike riding until I get a bike rack for my car. And the treadmill is so boring…. Excuses, excuses. LOL
Congrats on your word count! Isn’t it nice to be ahead of the game?
I understand all about the exercise. Yuk!
Also, checked out the interview. Great job! I hope you sell lots of books!
It’s great to be ahead!
Yeah, I wish you would commit to doing this with me. LOL
Thanks. I wasn’t sure how I would fit in since Starfane isn’t exactly about fairies, but there’s a kick butt fairy in it. 🙂
I have a few goals I’m not doing great on either, but whatever you can do, right? Sounds like your other goals are going well though. Best of luck!
Thanks, Jaleh!
Nice interview on Fairytale Nerd! Starfane is on my TBR list.
Thanks, M.R. I hope you like Starfane.
Days off here and there are good, I believe. Plus overall you’re making steady progress . .
The DVD / treadmill combo sounds doable- I vote for that. Good luck! 🙂
So far, I’m happy with my writing progress. Now my exercise progress….
I was watching Angel while I was on the treadmill. LOL
Good job on the word count. Those are some nice numbers. And congrats on the progress on Starfane. I know that is a lot of work. Sounds like you are doing very well. Keep up the good work 🙂
Thanks for the support, Wendy! 🙂
As long as you are making progress, a day here or there shouldn’t matter. Hopefully! I say that now but wait until Nano starts. Have a great weekend.
Oh NaNo how I (don’t) miss you! Lol. Seriously, good luck with that.
